1990 – the launch of Radio Maximum

DJ Fonar: «After yet another 'Storming the Musical Olympus' festival in Gorky Park, which I won, by the way, Artur Selishchev came up to me and said that Artemy Troitsky wanted to meet me. He said that a joint Russian-American radio station was now launching, and that he wanted to invite me to work there. That's how I ended up at Maximum, where I took charge of dance music.
It was a time of total freedom. There were no restrictions at all, and we put anything we wanted on air. The music came mostly through Troitsky, and genuine new releases were spinning on air constantly».
