1993 – Club Palace

«It became clear that the future belonged to clubs. I took on the Palace project in Izmailovo. It was the first club that people traveled to in order to dance. Despite the fact that it was located very far away, everyone came to it – the Mikhalkovs, and the Presnyakovs. They played all styles there – from hip-hop to techno, and it operated exclusively on Friday and Saturday. There, by the way, Groove performed for the first time in Moscow – at the MayDay party, which was put on by the Petersburg lot and, I think, Oleg Tsodikov. It was real techno, hard.
But the project somehow petered out quickly. Probably because traveling to Izmailovo every weekend was simply uncomfortable, and then the visitors dwindled before our eyes. The owners of the establishment started looking for a different audience, reoriented toward rock, and the club came to be called «Ne Bey Kopytom» ("Don't Paw the Ground"). But by that time I'd already left it, since I'd received an offer to take on Manhattan Express».
