Oleg Ojo:
«In 1994 I had a place in the South-West of Moscow called South West — quite a popular spot. It was a convertible café, a restaurant with a dance floor. A lot of people in the «over thirty» bracket remember that place fondly. Despite the fact that it was far from the centre, the first-wave party crowd and the stars of the day gathered there — Valentin Yudashkin, for example. It was a homely sort of club, a club «for our own». Musicians played there too, sometimes they stayed the night and a real jam would start up! To this day I can't forget a fantastic joint performance with Voronov — he played along to my set.
Then, in 1995, the Greeks who ran the «Alexander Blok» offered me the chance to open the first café on the summer deck. I came to them with the idea of an after-party — parties that started at four in the morning. It was aimed at people who worked in the casinos and restaurants — they never made it to the normal parties, but they were desperate to go clubbing».
