2000 – XIII on Ibiza. The First Season

«In the winter of 2000, the team from the club El Divino came to us – Alberto Blazquez; Mario, who's in charge of face control there; DJs. They looked at everything that was going on, immediately fell in love with our star dancer Katya Vinogradova, and right then and there proposed doing an XIII party at their place. Like, Ibiza has to see this!
No sooner said than done. In the spring of 2000 we started actively preparing the first promo tour to Ibiza. What this Ibiza even was, no one in Moscow really knew. So our main task was to tell as many people about it as possible, to run an advertising campaign for Ibiza. That's why a whole crowd of journalists were invited on the first tour – Tuta Larsen, Alexander Shumsky, the magazine «Ne spat!», various party people. The DJ pool included the best – Groove, Fonar, Kolya, myself, Sanchez. We needed maximum buzz. We prepared very seriously for this trip. We took decorators, dancers and an enormous amount of props with us. «Samara Airlines» curse us to this day, because the moment we reached the plane with all this gear, things really kicked off on board!
The celebration lasted two weeks. During that time XIII, the first Russian club on Ibiza, threw two official parties in two of the island's central clubs – at El Divino and at Privilege. It somehow happened that at El Divino our party fell on Friday the thirteenth, the club's main date. The foreigners understood nothing, gazing in astonishment at the Russian participants of the freak parade on the main streets of Ibiza Town. Over there that's considered the main promotional instrument – if during this parade you manage to astonish people, then the party will turn out a success. We astonished them. With both the show and the line-up. Along with me and Kolya, Futureshock also played at this party – for the first time on Ibiza. They were already fairly well-known guys, their remixes were being written about a lot, but they'd somehow never had the chance to perform on Ibiza. XIII gave them that opportunity.
