April 1994 - the Start of Mondays at Penthouse

«We had only a month to prepare. The first party was called the Transmission Party and took place at the end of April 1994. The name 4Rest Division didn't exist yet back then - it appeared only in June - but the core group - me, Artyom, Gorobiy and Soloveychik - had already formed. We started coming up with various names, throwing conceptual parties. Things, as they say, took off, and soon the club's owners began moving these parties to Friday and Saturday, making two-day raves.
Around one and a half thousand people came to the parties. The main advertising medium was flyers, which we handed out ourselves wherever we could - at parties, in shops, among acquaintances. Then a core of people whom we knew by sight took shape. Soon it was enough to make a few calls to gather a crowd for a party. But we didn't earn much, since for some reason we worked on a salary. All the finances were managed by Lyosha Gorobiy, since he was one of the co-owners of Penthouse».
