The Devil's Party

This year, only the lazy didn't celebrate Halloween, and few people went door-to-door with a bag for candy, offering to spare lives in exchange for sweets. Following the 'good old' Russian tradition, people decided to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of sin and vice at clubs. And indeed, the choice is obvious—where else can you find so much worldly pleasure while hiding your face behind a mask, say, of Dracula? This year practically all Moscow establishments celebrated this dark Sabbath. The 44100hz team set out (after sprinkling themselves with holy water) to clubs XIII and Art Play in search of the scariest monsters to ask them a few questions:

1. Who are you tonight and how do you feel in this costume?
2. What would you do if you woke up tomorrow as the character you're dressed as?

1. Well, what can't you see? I'm a boxer! Maybe even Evander Holyfield. But honestly, I've only fought twice in my life.
2. If I woke up as Holyfield, I'd retire—enough getting punched in the face!

1. What? A pumpkin of course! The costume is cool, it ventilates great...
2. I'd fall asleep and wake up somewhere else.

1. My friend and I are in retro costumes. It's something between the musical 'Chicago' and the reality of the 1930s. At first we wanted something more brutal—blood, for example—but we reconsidered, decided to just dress beautifully. I even took a cigarette holder, though I don't smoke.
2. Good question. Honestly, I wouldn't want to end up in the 1930s. I hope that doesn't happen.

1. I'm a ship captain. I feel amazing, it's an incredible night and there's so much more ahead!
2. I'd be the happiest person on Earth because I love the sea madly. I know how to use a compass, so I'd head to Majorca!

1. We're in Oriental costumes today. My name is Shaherzada Stepanovna.
2. We'd enjoy life and learn belly dancing!

1. A modern American cop. I feel super, I'm going to frisk everyone and arrest the disobedient!
2. I'd come up with a different career. I don't want to be associated with police work.

1. Today I'm a doctor, just like always. I feel fine, I came from work like this, and everyone thinks I'm dressed up for Halloween! Actually, I check ears, nose and throat, but I can treat anything. I also know what medicines to use for fun.
2. I'd have some beer and everything would be fine!

1. Tonight I'm dressed as a forest spirit (leshy). The party's not really my style, but I love it!

1. Tonight I'm an Indian woman. I love it—I'm floating (laughs).
2. I'd go to the tea plantations, then collect rice, save money and go to Goa to party!

1. My costume is obvious—I'm a gypsy. I haven't quite gotten into character yet, I just arrived.
2. If I were surrounded by nice, positive people, I'd stay in the camp—singing and dancing!

1. I wanted to be Dracula first, but friends said—you're a rocker, you don't need a costume!
2. You know, I've been through so much in life that nothing scares me—not rockers, not motorcycles, not Draculas—so if I woke up in Transylvania tomorrow, I'd throw a party there! I've been everywhere and seen everything. Australian shamans sent me to space, Indian shamans took me apart, I've drunk Mexican tea, and I've been to the Mix!
