Dave Seaman - a legend of the world's dancefloors, a DJ with a superb international reputation, a talented musician and simply a good man, has once again visited the Russian capital. On 13 April "XIII Society" threw a grand party at the club "Serdtse". A huge number of XIII regulars came out that night to hear the famous "sailor". Many were coming to his set not for the first or even the second time, yet everyone agreed that he can be called an unpredictable DJ. Every time he pours
his soul into his set and you can't help but notice it. That pleasant tendency held true this night too.
This time he delighted everyone with a stunning 3-hour set. His music could not leave very many people indifferent, and the dancefloor was truly on fire that night. The crowd rapturously welcomed their beloved sailor with his magical music. This time we heard a great many new records from him, which was especially gratifying. He did not lean on overplayed records, since he knew the party guests' musical tastes rather well. Particular delight came from a remix of Freelove and the season's much-hyped hit Cosmos - Take me with you, with which he closed his set. Very soon the 22nd mix in the Global Underground series, mixed by Dave, will appear on the shelves of record stores. It's a shame, of course, that this very mix wasn't recorded on this particular night, but nonetheless one can say that all of the party's guests got to be among
the first to hear some of the records that will later appear on this compilation.
The organizers did a great deal to make those who came feel as if they were on the dancefloor of club XIII. Of course, the whole affair couldn't do without the club's residents - Kolya and Grad. As always, they presented plenty of new records and, naturally, there were hits too. Kolya's morning set featured the most pleasant tracks from Morel, Mike Vandenberg, Solid Sessions and the track "So Hot" by JC, so beloved by all the girls.
In the end, what we had before us was not just "another party" but one of the most enjoyable parties of the "spring 2002" season. For which we want to express our gratitude to everyone who took part in preparing and running this event. And as for us, all that's left is to eagerly await parties like this in the near future.
