On Sunday, August 26, the B1 Maximum club hosted a concert by the musical veterans Basement Jaxx. The energy was such that by the end of the party there wasn't a single person left on the dancefloor who wasn't dancing to the old hits and new tracks of this madcap outfit. 44100hz tried to stop the dancing fans and ask them a few questions:
1. Do you always spend your Sunday evenings at clubs and concerts?
2. Which of the recent events stuck with you the most?
4. How many years have you been listening to Basement Jaxx?
3. By the way, do you know the names of the members of Basement Jaxx?
1. No! I go out rarely — I don't have the energy. Usually I go to the movies, to other events, I rest, basically.
2. Armin van Buuren at Gaudi.
3. A very long time, about 5 years probably.
4. No, without the Internet I can't tell you.
1. I go out often, the day of the week doesn't matter!
2. Lots of different concerts and they're all really cool.
3. I've followed their work since their first album came out, 7 years, no less.
4. Honest answer — no.
1. No, but today I decided to do just that! Usually I meet up with a friend — the one you were just talking to — and we have a few drinks...
2. A-a-ah, that was a while ago, Prodigy probably.
3. Well, how to put it, yeah, probably a very long time. He listens (Pyotr, above), I listen, we listen and drink! I love bears!
4. No-no-no, it's so hard — I just love bears.
1. No, extremely rarely. Mostly I sleep at home or lounge on the beach.
2. Ooh, I don't go to concerts often; the last one was a Madonna concert.
3. A very long time. I've done music my whole life, so to me they're such old dudes. Maybe I don't know much about them, but I know their work pretty well.
4. No, I don't know. I've read a lot about it, but the information somehow didn't stick in my head; I just know they're cool, that's all.
1. Actually not as often as I'd like — I only recently moved to Moscow from Yekaterinburg, and even there it's not like I went out much; mostly I meet up with friends and we hang out.
2. That was in Yekaterinburg, I went to see Pyatnitsa.
3. For me this group is a recent discovery, I've been listening to them for about a year.
4. Oh, I have a very bad memory for names — I already can't remember yours either.
1. No, I usually play at clubs on Friday and Saturday, so I drink my way through all the main Sunday concerts.
2. A month and a half ago I was the opening act for Brazzaville, and I also went to see Ozzy Osbourne.
3. Since I'm a DJ, this outfit's work is very relevant to me. I can't say exactly how long I've been listening to this group, but it's been a very long time.
4. No, I'm afraid I won't remember.
1. For us Sunday is usually family time. I look after my child, spend time with my husband.
2. It was a very long time ago, I have so much going on, I'm afraid I won't remember. Although... I do remember — it wasn't a concert, it was Slava Polunin's show, does that count?
3. A long time; they're my very favorite electronic duo.
4. No, I'm not enough of a fan to take an interest in biographies, I just love what they do.
1. I'm new to Moscow, this is my first time at the B1 club, and I'm incredibly glad I managed to get out. I'm a bit blown away by how cool everything is here, I'm thinking of going out on Sundays more often.
2. Most often I go to concerts that Europa Plus is directly involved with; the latest ones were Tokio and Yolka. Of the European stars I've gotten to see — Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
3. Yes, since I worked as a DJ in a nightclub for five years, this is music close to my heart, very dear to me. What's special about this group is that they mix styles, they don't fixate on any one sound — genuine eclecticism!
4. No, I'm not that big a fan of theirs yet, but as experience shows, going to events like this leads to a more serious approach to such matters; I think after this concert I'll know everything about them.
1. I go out all the time, but only when there are concerts; I hardly ever go to clubs. Otherwise I read books at home — recovering after Saturday.
2. Fall Out Boy, who played right here, a couple of weeks ago.
3. Five years for sure, if not more — I'm their biggest fan.
4. O-o-oh, no, ha-ha-ha, damn, I need to fix that.
1. I usually rest after rough club nights, at home or at the dacha.
2. The last time was six months ago at the Infiniti club, Mia came to play, I think.
3. I'm hearing them for the first time. What band is it, by the way? I just can't remember the name.
4. Unfortunately, no.
1. Not often, mostly I catch up on sleep.
2. Fall Out Boy, at B1, that is, right here.
3. Yes, I'm a listener of long standing — several years now.
4. No, things like that don't interest me; I generally don't know many people's names at all.
1. I work in television — it's one endless party regardless of the day of the week, but generally I try to spend Sundays at home.
2. I was here, at B1, at the Eva Nesence concert.
3. Maybe three years; it's not that I follow their work, they're just really positive and cool.
4. Yes, I interviewed them — one is called Bra... I forgot, Radcliffe is the surname, and the other is Brant or something like that, no, I don't remember.
1. No, almost never, I spend time with my child at home.
2. Buanos Rias Cocial Club, it was held at the "Central House of Entrepreneurs".
3. Yes.
4. No.
