FortDance 2006

The Fort Dance 2006 electronic music festival is one of the most important events in club Russia. The seventh one-day festival to date, despite its short duration, stands out for the scale of its productions and its guest performers. The festival's organisers prefer to place the emphasis on live performances and multimedia shows, but what really draws clubbers here from all over Russia is the historic Fort Alexander I — a legendary piece of architecture off the shores of the Gulf of Finland, one of the symbols of the might of post-Petrine Russia, as well as a unique venue for holding raves like these.

The main stage will run from 21:00 to 09:00. On it you'll be able to hear Deep Dish, a live set from 20:20 Soundsystem, Dean Coleman, Fonar, Grad, Swanky Tunes (live) and Om from Kazan. The Electric Room will run from 23:00 to 09:00; here you'll hear King Roc, Mike Spirit, Kon (Kiev), Anton Nuemark and Arkady Air. During the same hours the Tekky Room will present Youngsters (live), Muza, Fish, Spyder and Volodya Trapeznikov. And the House Room, from 23:00 to 09:00, will feature Miss Nine, Monica Electronica, Dasha Pushkina (Minsk) and Tina Charles.

The number of tickets is limited (5,000). The first 500 tickets, priced at 3,000 roubles, are available for booking. To book a ticket, you need to fill out the form on the website www.fortdance.com. All incoming requests are processed, and the senders receive a confirmation.

You can get to St Petersburg by train (preferably an express or the "Red Arrow") or by plane (to Pulkovo airport). From there you take the metro to "Chyornaya Rechka" station, and from there marshrutka (minibus) No. K405 to the final stop. There you switch to a taxi and for 50 roubles ride to Fort Konstantin. Or, on entering the city, you can get off at the checkpoint (KPP) and walk the 2 km to Fort Konstantin. You can also take a taxi straight from Pulkovo airport or from the Moskovsky railway station. At Fort Konstantin you pass ticket control and then take little boats across to Fort Alexander I, where the festival itself will take place.
