November Round-up. "Live" Category

The delightful singer Roisin Murphy was, for some reason, dissatisfied with her concert at the «Hermitage» garden. Because of this she decided to put on a club gig in Moscow. The event came together so quickly that many of the singer's fans didn't have time to react, and so during Roisin's concert at XIII it was as calm and cosy as at home. Having finished singing, Murphy joined the crowd and danced away to R'N'B hits like a seasoned Russian high-school girl.

The celebration of German techno was a resounding success. The only thing one could grumble about was the not-so-well-put-together line-up. Nevertheless, each of the performing artists was good in his own way. Old man Alex Paterson proved that The Orb is more alive than the living and could give any young upstart a run for their money, Superpitcher was clearly reminiscing about his set at Sobachka (RIP), and the uncompromising Reinhard Voigt seems to have grown so fond of Moscow that he decided to visit it again.

For his outstanding services to intelligent minimal music, we wanted to give Aril an award back during his previous visit to the Penthouse. But there was no such category then. Now we're putting that right. It's worth noting that Brikha's work sounds more fitting at Shanti than at the Shchukinskaya tower.
