Naive. Super! Supermayer!

Ahead of Supermayer's Friday gig - that is, Superpitcher (Axel Schaufler) and Michael Mayer - at Arma 09, the people from the Casa agency putting on this party gathered 10 of their favourite, hated, revered and simply noteworthy video clips from the Russian segment of YouTube and asked Axel and Michael to give their brief comments on them. In the clip headings we give the titles as they appear on the hosting site, with a one-line preface for the guys, so they'd understand just what horror they were being asked to comment on.

Supermayer: Great clip, great fellow, and the music too... we could have written something like that ourselves. We like it. We believe it was once in the top ten of your national charts. Pity we can't understand the words.

Supermayer: What a moustachioed fellow! So that's who Sebastien Tellier nicked his current look from. And musically, too, he clearly drew his inspiration from right here. A wildly funky little song. Definitely - we like it.

Supermayer: This is obviously the Russian James Murphy... wait a moment, he looks a lot better than James! (Casa's note - the guys think the actor is Viktor Tsoi himself). I'm trying to imagine the song without the sign-language interpretation. It'll be much better that way.

Supermayer: We both can't help crying when the little elephant gives the bananas to the little monkey. Very touching stuff... Was this even meant for children, or for an after-party?

Supermayer: Right, put this dude on the guest list, please

Supermayer: A magnificent version. He sings and looks considerably more pleasant than Rihanna. We like his Totoro costume, the little cat in the frame and everything else going on around him.

Supermayer: Naah... This isn't our cup of tea. After all those great clips we've just watched, it's hard to concentrate on anything serious.

Supermayer: It took our breath away. We can't watch and talk at once. Definitely, you have to see the whole film to the end. And Axel needs the phone number and the name of the actress.

Supermayer: We repeat: we need the actress's phone number. We prefer the Mujuice works that came out on the wonderful label Pro-Tez. This one has some sort of wrong beat. It just doesn't suit us.
