Orion. Pilot. First Impressions

I feel like sharing my impressions of those fun times. The first time I ended up at a disco (clubs came later) was around '89. And it was the "Orion" cinema. On stage Fonar was spinning reels (there were no turntables yet), along with the little chanteuse Lika Star. The crowd was absolutely mixed. Thugs, local youth who didn't get the music, and, so to speak, the "idealists," the ones who later became clubbers or, in the English manner, "party animals." Then clubs started opening, "Pilot," where I attended the DJ championship and heard Groove for the first time. I think he took first place then. Credit where it's due, he played beautifully. He'd put one turntable on top of another, turn his back and scratch. It was cool! In general, I was at all the clubs, from "Ermitazh" to "Titanic," but "Ptuch" became my true home. I'll tell you about that later.
