Beer, Techno, Chocolate

What can you say, festivals of electronic music are in short supply in October. In Germany the whole of October is beer festivals; in France it's the 'harvest festivals'; there's also the Chocolate Festival in Italy and the festival of the last herring catch in Finland. In short, there's no time for dancing. So if anything does happen, it's certainly something completely over the top. As always, the most interesting stuff is here.

The country with the highest number of musicians per square metre has something to boast about. The attempt to attract tourists to the land of geysers and waterfalls with music has succeeded.
The organisers, credit where it's due, dilute the visiting artists and the locals in fair proportions. Among the headliners are Gus Gus, Moonbootica, Mum, Chromeo. In all, 170 participants are billed at the festival. Performances take place across 8 different venues. Among them are ordinary clubs, but also, for example, a theatre or a museum of contemporary art. It won't do without geysers either. Every year the 'Hangover Party' at a place called the 'Blue Lagoon' enjoys particular popularity.
Amsterdam Dance Event
Holland, Amsterdam

Holland, known for its large-scale raves, also lays claim to the status of host of the biggest event in the European music industry. Everything is arranged as usual: by day a conference and the training of young talents, by night – all the most interesting stuff. This year the highlights of the night programmes will be Dave Clarke, Estroe, David Guetta, Groove Armada, Extrawelt, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Roisin Murphy, Tiësto, Vitalic.
Electronic Beats Festival
Czech Republic, Prague
27 October

The festival seems to live up to the name of its mobile-phone sponsor: each time it moves from one city to another. In October it will take place quite nearby – in Prague. There, together with the legendary Underworld, the universally loved Booka Shade and a barely comprehensible act called The Man No.9, the star of Czech dance music – DJ Ladida – will perform. Don't miss it.
Vegoose
USA, Las Vegas
27–28 October
Price of a two-day ticket – $146.5

A big party dedicated to the Halloween holiday in Las Vegas. The festival's website teems with bats and other characteristic creatures. The headliners' names are spelled out in big blood-smeared letters: Daft Punk, Thievery Corporation, M.I.A, Unkle. A trashy-looking zombie tells you what entertainment, besides music, awaits you. For the most part these are costume shows and weddings. We all know that you can get married for all eternity in Las Vegas on almost every corner, with just a passport on you. Often these two amusements combine into one. Then you get costume weddings. And what else do you need for a good party?
