Roman Fluegel and Joern Elling Wuttke have been working together since the late 1980s. In 1993, together with DJs Ata and Heiko MSO, they founded three labels – Ongaku, Klang Electronic, and Playhouse. Under the pseudonym Acid Jesus, they released one album and several singles, later changing the project name to Alter Ego. Shortly after, they created the Sensorama project for ambient works. The first Alter Ego record was released in 1994 on the Hardhouse label owned by Sven Vath. The success of these projects in England led to the release of the album Decoding The Hacker Myth, for which a tour across the UK was organized. Alter Ego participated in and headlined festivals: TRIBAL GATHERING FESTIVAL – England, SONAR – Spain, VISION Festival – Switzerland, TIME WARP/BIG WARP, SONNE MOND & STERNE, MELT – Germany, I LOVE TECHNO – Belgium, WIRE Festival – Japan.
