Four young men from the city with the funny name Kortrijk became some of the main architects of a rebellion in Belgium, and nightclubs were happy to welcome not only hardcore ravers but also indie rock fans. Known proteges of Soulwax, they secured a leading position among performers like Boys Noize, Erol Alkan, Justice, and Felix Da Housecat. Their debut album Bring It On came out in 2006, but its relevance only grew over time. Interesting stats: over 100 shows worldwide from Scandinavia to Australia; participation in the I Love Techno festival; a grueling schedule—3 shows in 2 days; EMI music award nominations; 5 hit remixes for tracks by Futureheads, Scissor Sisters, The Cribs, Shitdisco, and Martin Solveig. In the US, you can barely turn on the TV without accidentally hearing Goose's music as a soundtrack in shows like CSI or Shark. Why "Belgian madness" indie-club-rock is beloved is simple to explain: high-density electronic bass under pressure blends with catchy, memorable, and simple melodies.
