Phoiod

Phoiod is a project by Moscow media artist Igor Tikhonov. Igor began his creative journey in 2004 when he became fascinated with Max/MSP, a visual programming environment for interactive multimedia applications. In 2005, collaborating with Andrey Zots (a member of the renowned Moscow techno duo Bip Soup), Igor began creating interactive installations where people could interact with computer programs in entertaining ways. Some of these works were later presented at the Contemporary Art Institute "ProArte" in St. Petersburg. Music, however, has always been Igor's true passion. In 2008, he launched his solo project Phoiod, focusing on minimal techno, tech house, and IDM. Following debut digital releases on labels Eklero (IT), MBD (IT), and PiSo (UK), he released his first vinyl record on the German label Momentum, with forthcoming vinyl releases planned for Multi Vitamins (UK) and ThreeSixtyRecords (DE). Drawing on his extensive multimedia programming background, Igor exclusively uses his own software developments for music production and continues to develop multimedia software that he generously shares on his website.
