Jean Vanesse and Thomas Sohet have been involved in music for as long as they've been conscious, with Jean even being born in his father's studio. As an infant, his unusually loud cries made it hard for his father to work, leaving him no choice but to take his child to the studio, where he magically calmed down. This unique start had a profound impact on the child's psychological development, suggesting that a life devoted to music was destined. Thomas, on the other hand, was born in a typical Belgian maternity hospital and grew up in a normal environment, except for one factor. The piano keys — black, white, black, white — captivated him as a baby, affecting his psyche. So when he first saw a synthesizer with the same keys, an inner voice told him, 'One day you'll find the right combination and become Free!' Thus, he began his search by playing in various funk bands until he met his future partner, Jean Vanesse. Together, they dove into the studio, purchased various equipment, and began their quest for the 'Formula.' Thanks to this unique story behind the duo Spirit Catcher, they are now recognized as one of the most interesting house projects, with their works released on the best underground labels such as Freerange, Silver Network, Missive, Kanzleramt, Music Man, Unlimited, F-Communications, etc. You can hear them not only in dance clubs but also at major jazz festivals, as Spirit Catcher is often associated with the concept of 'future disco.'
