Who is LTJ Bukem? The founder of DJ culture? An inspired musician? The owner of a renowned record label? Perhaps he's simply a club visionary? How can a person, surrounded by all of this, disarmingly smile while describing the work he puts into it? A man who took the concept of drum'n'bass from a small club in London on Charing Cross Road and brought it to national English superclubs, and then onto the international stage? Whose records created a whole new mark in the galaxy of sound for breakbeat? Or maybe he's a renaissance man of the new computer generation? In truth, LTJ Bukem is above all of this. Although he wouldn't admit it, he is a living embodiment of the post-acid house creative and entrepreneurial spirit. He's like a flash of dispersing energy. His panoramic musical vision has found success in every area he has touched. From founding his sound system to organizing major raves, from the early days of breakbeat culture to innovations in drum'n'bass music. Known to his friends as Danny Williamson, he has always been at the center of the evolution of breakbeat, illuminating his path with more than just an interest in life and a love for music. In other words, LTJ Bukem is a man on a mission! Thirteen years have passed since the first record featuring the 'smiling guy' on the cover was released. 'LTJ Bukem – Demons Theme / A Couple of Beats [GLR001]' - it is now undoubtedly a coveted item in the collection of any fan of broken rhythms. In the early 90s, this music was seen as something new. Only enthusiastic epithets can be used to describe what happened to the label thereafter. By the end of 1995, 'Good Looking Records' had already released 15 records, all in less than three years of existence. Danny Williamson (LTJ Bukem), in turn, was already one of the most well-known and respected figures in the world of intelligent drum'n'bass, both for his creations and for what he did as the head of 'Good Looking Records'. In the past year, there has been a bit of a lull within the 'GLO' ranks. The label's website was closed, and new music was hardly being released. There were rumors circulating about tensions between Bukem and many of the label's musicians. Nevertheless, Danny Williamson himself dispelled all speculation of a collapse: 'We just did what ordinary people do a few times a year, something we hadn't done in 13 years! That is, we took a little break'. And now, that very break has come to an end, as the new website www.goodlooking.org informs us. Soon, we can expect a substantial number of releases, among which special attention should be given to Bukem's studio mix 'Unlucky for Some'. The title speaks for itself - undoubtedly, there will be critics for whom the return of a giant like Good Looking to the global arena will be 'unlucky'. However, Russian drum'n'bass fans undoubtedly have a stroke of luck coming their way. On October 28, rested, recharged with energy and ideas, LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, like five years ago as part of the 'Steppin’Session' event series and with their world tour 'Unlucky for Some', will once again visit Moscow and perform a single concert at 'Gorod' club. October 28, Saturday, starting at 11:00 PM, Gorod Club, A Soulfull Halloween Nightmare, special guests: LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, as well as: Mekka, Jazzman, FM Device, Electrosoul Sistem, Frofit, Djungle, Altero b2b Fstep, Ice, Helga, Andrey Burtaev, pre-sale tickets at 'Gorod' club for 500 RUB.
