Aka Aka Will Perform in Moscow Live

This coming Friday, the famous Nu:Gravity party will be held at the Solyanka club! Guesting Anton Kubikov, the German duo with a live performance Aka Aka. Kotumo and Ascent met for the first time behind the turntables in the spring of 2008. It was one of those open-air parties that start as a meeting of friends but grow into a massive rave.

Kotumo earned his DJ reputation in Berlin in 2004, performing at WMF, Arena, Ritter Butzke, and in the Berlin area. He has also spun records at parties in London, Wales, Turin, Graz, Zurich, and Moscow, being known for his broadcasts on DeepMix, Proton, RTSFM, and many other outlets. Since 2008, he has focused more on producing his own tracks. His first solo release appeared in May 2009 on the label 3rd Wave Music.

Ascent became a DJ and moved to Berlin in 2008. He has an extensive discography: he has won DJ competitions organized by D. Diggler and Carl Cox, and besides collaborations with Christian Fischer on Definition and Whirlpoolsex labels, he has released his solo records.

Today, Kotumo + Ascent focus on collaborative work under the alias AKA AKA. The Stil Vor Talent label released their debut Voegeln EP, which received wide support from Dubfire, Troy Pierce, and others, reaching the main charts on Beatport within just 3 weeks. Without having played a single live set so far, AKA AKA already have a tight bookings schedule exclusively for live performances - from Watergate, Rehecenterum, Arena (Berlin), Roten Fabrik (Zurich) to Münster (Favela).
