American Psycho at the Carnival
Клубные российские · 26.10.2005
On the night of October 29-30, during the most honest club holiday Halloween, the charming Dane Patrick Bateman will play a DJ set at Mix. Fans of contemporary literature know him as the enraged clerk-killer from Bret Easton Ellis' novel American Psycho. Why the talented Danish DJ and musician Kenneth Broxgaard chose such a frightening alias remains a mystery. However, it's convenient for him to play at such events: all it takes is an introduction. On a serious note, Patrick's maniacal nature is well displayed in his music. In the early 90s, alongside his DJ gigs, Bateman also engaged in promoting clubs. Together with another Danish DJ and promoter Peter Lundgreen, he ran the underground club 'Hypnotic Basement', and later the techno-house 'Rocket Club', where both local and guest stars performed DJ and live sets. Bateman began experimenting with music, transitioning from minimal techno and house to Detroit techno, Chicago, and then back to a harder German minimal techno. Today, Patrick is associated with a variety of styles: wicked hard minimalism, loaded deep tech-house, and aggressive electro. In 2004, following in the footsteps of a mature DJ and promoter, Bateman founded his own label - Tic Tac Toe Records. By the way, you can play tic-tac-toe on the label's website http://www.tictactoe-records.com/ against a computer and, strangely enough, win! The Tic Tac Toe label releases artists like Hansen & DJ Daniel, Mike Shannon, Jeff Milligan, Brian Aneurysm, and Theodor Zox in the realms of minimal house and techno. One of the mentioned artists has already played at Mix. And that's not all, especially since a series of new Saturdays is approaching at the beloved club. Date: October 29 Venue: Mix Club Entry: Club cards, 400 rubles for friends of club members Start: 00:00 Also performing: Dukhov, B-Voice, and Meshkov
