Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the wonderful world of Beans, aka Mr. Ballbeam. A hip-hop revolutionary. An extraordinary wordsmith. An acoustic architect. A fashion renegade. A published poet. A culture star. Raised in White Plains, NY, Beans emerged in the mid-90s as part of the mythical Brooklyn Boom Poetic collective that turned the world upside down. Attaining wide recognition as one of the three legendary members of NYC's most progressive rap group, Anti Pop Consortium, BEANS continues his grand experiment in music and life, releasing his debut album, 'Tomorrow Right Now,' on Warp Records in March 2003. With lyrical virtuosity, avant-garde hitting the mark, one of the most unique and remarkable live performances, BEANS has returned to the glorious days when everything done was with real talent, passion, and a true desire to be real and simply shining. Sharing stages and tours with everyone from Radiohead to Vernon Reid, Pharoahe Monch, and Aesop Rock, DJ Shadow and Cannibal Ox, Attica Blues and Terranova, plus summers at Lollapalooza and DJ sets with Missy Elliott and Gwyneth Paltrow, BEANS displayed his multiple talents, and the response was truly astonishing. Making his first solo debut with 'Nude Paper,' 12-inch releases on Mo'wax in 2000, BEANS gave us a taste of what and how it should happen. With his new record, he has kept all the promises: these songs stay in your head and accompany you throughout the day, whether it's the infectious steel drums of 'Phreek the Beat,' the lo-fi electro-dub of 'Hot Venom,' or the wind instruments of 'Mutescreamer.' It all seems destined to make the world 'fresher.'
