Berlin's Tresor Club is closing in April
Музыкальные зарубежные · 10.02.2005
Tresor Club first opened its doors in March 1991 and over the past 14 years has established a reputation as one of the world's premier techno clubs - both through its parties and its affiliated record label, Tresor Records. Looking at the list of musicians who have performed at the club or released on the label, you can understand who's who in techno. Rumors about Tresor's closing have circulated in the German club scene for the past few years, especially after a police 'prevention' operation in September 2003, when out of 400 visitors, 16 were detained for drug possession, leading to a temporary closure by city authorities. The official press release states that the venue's landlords simply chose not to renew the lease and that on April 16, the club will cease to exist in its current location, with a final party taking place on that day. From April 1 to 16, the organizers invite everyone who has been a part of the club's life to come and bid it farewell, hoping, however, to resurrect it in a new location.
