The Hawtin Brothers

Richie Hawtin's younger brother, Matthew Hawtin, released his first commercial mix on CD, Once Again, Again. The 29 tracks, compiled for the Plus 8 label, are dedicated to the ambient genre. Most tracks date back to the early to mid '90s. While Richie was performing intricate techno under his Plastikman project at Detroit parties, his close relative was calming the audience on the neighboring dance floor with these chill-out compositions. The mix features tracks from Sun Electric, Namlook, Irresistible Force, MLO, James Bernard, and many others. Interestingly, the closing track, "Once Again, Again - Amenity" - was included by Richie Hawtin in the well-known compilation on the Get Physical label - Final Song #1. Also, in connection with Plastikman's new tour, Minus label resident Jeremy Jacobs prepared a mix of classic minimal techno tracks that Richie Hawtin performed about ten years ago.
