Rowan Blades is best known as part of the very successful Breeder project. The first two singles, 'The Chain' and 'Twilo Thunder', were sold in circulation of more than 30 thousand copies and were included in the compilation 'Global Underground - San Francisco', made by one of the most famous world DJs Sasha. 'Twilo Thunder' was later re-released on Ministry of Sound and sold 500 thousand copies, and also featured in the compilation Euphoria 2. The following tracks released by Breeder appeared on the compilations 'Northern Exposure - Expeditions' and 'Global Undergroung - Hong Kong' by Sasha and John Digweed. The project Breeder's successful development was also aided by its remixes of Tilt's 'Children', Planet Perfecto's 'It's Not Over Yet', Brother Brown's 'Under the Water', Orbital's 'Nothing Left', and Evolution's 'Phoenix'. Against this backdrop of success, Rowan launched another project with Gaetan Schurrer, who engineered tracks for Sasha. Their first remix of Orbital's 'Nothing Left' was released on the Ffrr label, and their second work on Space Manoeuvres' 'Stage One' caught the attention of Hooj Choons bosses after being featured on another Sasha compilation. Rowan Blades and Rhythm Syndicate: Breeder's success on Rowan Blades's own label Rhythm Syndicate allowed this organization to take a solid place among the most powerful record companies. Remixes by projects such as Slacker, Tilt, Evolution, and Oliver Lieb only strengthened the label's position. Soon Rhythm Syndicate Records gained the status of one of the top 10 independent dance labels in the UK, with tracks released on it regularly appearing on Pete Tong's Buz Chart show on Radio 1, and Rowan's career as a musician had a significant impact on the British dance industry. Rowan Blades as DJ: As a DJ, Rowan Blades played at Renaissance parties, as well as in clubs like Trade, Club UK, The Trinity, and of course, at Tangled, which became another step towards international recognition. Now Rowan plays all over Europe, including Russia, and even puritanical America could not resist - Rowan began performing at the legendary New York club Twilo, as well as at Shadow Lounge in Miami. If you want to listen to Rowan now, then perhaps the easiest place to do it would be in Hong Kong, where he has firmly established himself as a resident at Clubstar Entertainments parties. Closer to Europe, Rowan is still a monthly resident at More Tea Vicar parties, where he played with Sasha, Carl Cox, and Danny Howells, and at the annual Strawberry Fayre festival.
