Night Life Awards 2006 Ceremony

On February 26, Moscow will traditionally host the VIII ceremony of the Night Life Awards - the annual and most popular award in the field of show business and club life of the two Russian capitals - Moscow and St. Petersburg. Ceremonies in Russia have been held since 1998 in Moscow and since 2001 in St. Petersburg.

As part of the Night Life Awards, deserving awards are presented to DJs, promoters, art directors, and club owners in Moscow and St. Petersburg. These awards predict and determine further trends in the development of nightlife and the club business of both capitals.

The Night Life Awards is always an incredible fireworks display of colors and emotions, combining the seriousness of the event with farce and spectacle. Every year, actors, fashionable social figures, club directors and owners, art directors, promoters, musical producers, and many other representatives of Russia’s show business participate in the ceremony.

This year’s ceremony is unique because it will feature an exclusive concert by the popular Finnish group Leningrad Cowboys, known worldwide for their extravagant image. Their hallmark is the "unicorn" hairstyle and half-meter long funky shoes. Today, in Finland, the "magnificent nine" cowboys are considered among the leading musicians. Moreover, they have long become heroes in their homeland, with their stage costumes being showcased as exhibits in one of Helsinki's museums. The Leningrad Cowboys have released nine albums, two of which received gold status in Finland.

The event will be hosted by actress Ekaterina Volkova ("KGB in a Tuxedo", "About Love", "The Collector"). She will also perform with the punk band "Bespredel", of which she is the lead singer, singing the song "Popcorn" dedicated to Ksenia Sobchak.

Additionally: The group "A-Studio", the group "Krovostok", shows from clubs "Zona" and Infiniti, DJ Smash, and many others.

The last ceremony, which took place in February 2005, gathered over 4,000 people. Over the years, about 20,000 people have attended the ceremony, witnessing performances by famous Western artists and distinguished DJs. Each ceremony is broadcast in full on MTV Russia.
