Controlled Substance - a mix by Quivver

Over fifteen years of his career, John `Quivver` Graham has earned a reputation as one of the most innovative and deserving producers in dance music. John signed his first contract with Paul Oakenfold's label 'Perfecto,' then worked for Major Dance label, A & R records, and eventually caught the attention of Virgin Records, one of the largest record companies in the world. His first mixed compilation 'Transport 5' was released by the American label Kinetic Records in 2001. John then opened his own company BozBoz and spent the following years touring, solidifying his popularity as a DJ. In 2004, John was invited to collaborate with the highly successful Italian project Planet Funk. The Italians were looking for an English-speaking vocalist and songwriter to work on two tracks. The result of their collaboration was seven magnificent compositions included in the album. John toured with Planet Funk throughout 2005, appeared on MTV shows, and had the privilege to participate in a charity concert Live 8 in Rome in front of a crowd of 300,000 people right after Duran Duran's performance. Now, in 2006, John felt it was time to release another mix. Critical Rhythm Label Management presents the compilation 'Controlled Substance', curated and mixed by John `Quivver` Graham. 'It's been 5 years since the release of my debut album 'Transport 5', so I thought it was time to 'put out' something fresh in a mix,' says John. 'I planned to release the album a year ago, but due to a tight touring schedule, I only did it now. Although I am glad the release was delayed - I managed to get the freshest tracks, plus there are some of my new 'things' on the album. I tried to squeeze my standard three-hour DJ set onto one compact disc. This compilation is not just a 'club' set, you can listen to this disc at home and in the car.'
