French duo Daft Punk will be responsible for the music in the upcoming sequel to the movie 'Tron'. This will be the first soundtrack in Daft Punk's history. The new 'Tron Legacy' or 'Tron 2.0' is set to be released in 2011. And now for the main news: if you are a big fan of Daft Punk but not ready to watch Tron (even though the movie promises to be impressive), the director hinted that the musicians may embark on a music tour in support of the soundtrack. 'Tron 2.0' is a sci-fi film by Joseph Kosinski, a sequel to the original 'Tron'. Steven Lisberger, who directed the first film, is the producer of this one. Jeff Bridges will reprise his role as Kevin Flynn, and Garrett Hedlund will play the role of Sean Flynn. The film will also feature Bruce Boxleitner, Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett, Karl Urban, and John Hurt. Filming took place primarily in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. A sneak peek of the film was shown at the 2008 Comic-Con in San Diego. According to Movieline, at the international Comic-Con festival, director Kosinski stated: 'Undoubtedly, we can expect several thematic performances from Daft Punk in the near future.' He also referred to the meeting with the musical duo as a 'mysterious pancake breakfast in Los Angeles,' during which Daft Punk still didn't take off their helmets. Until 2011, there is still time, and all we can do is wait and hope that the rumors of a magical Daft Punk/Tron tour will come true.
