David Carretta and Just to Perform Together!

DJ cafe Mio presents a live performance by musician Just and a DJ set from the famous DJ David Carretta! Christopher Just was born and raised in Vienna. He played his first DJ set in a gay club in the capital, and his first composition 'Wenn der toni mitdem Polsater und deer Edi mit dem Finger' (1988) topped the Musicbox contest for 'Best Song for Football WM'. To support himself financially, Christopher worked part-time in a record store, where he met DJ Pure. They called their creative alliance Ilsa Gold. The live performance of Christopher and DJ Pure at the legendary U4 caught the attention of producers, and soon their first record was released. The track 'Up' topped the music charts. Follow-up German performances and the second album 'Silke' opened the duo's path to performances at the Mayday festival. Soon Just established the label Sons of Ilsa. Marusha sang for them 'Somewhere over the Rainbow', and Westbam launched 'Raving Society'. After the closure of Sons of Ilsa, Just began producing on his own and created a new label Petra and also became a co-author of the soundtrack to the first Austrian film dedicated to techno – 'Tempo'. At the same time, he worked on his album 'Gerhard Hoppla jetzt komm ich' and produced with Hells Gigolo Records the track 'I’m a Discodancer'.

The second participant of the evening at Mio is David Carretta, a recognized star of the electronic scene, rightfully considered one of the founders of the electro-techno style. Worldwide fame came to him after the release of his debut EP album on the legendary German label Gigolo in 1996. At that time, he met Caroline Hervé, known as Miss Kittin, with whom he recorded a cover of Gary Numan's track 'Down in the Park' for the Random label. In early 2003, riding the wave of his success, David Carretta created his label called Space Factory and recorded a variety of artists such as Gigi Succes, Worker Poor, H. Smithfield, D.I.P, and Exchpoptrue. Producing techno today is a sign of good taste, but Carretta does it simply because techno is his true passion. Until recently, Carretta only did live performances, neglecting DJing. But after some practice, David mastered the craft of DJing and began performing in clubs at parties around the world. The logical outcome of this process was his CD mix 'Electro Dash', released on the Model label. In it, David presents to the audience his most significant electro and techno influences - the sound that shaped his musical technique.
