DJ Battle!

Red Devil DJ Battle is a logical continuation of last year's festival 'Remember Everything'. Back then, within the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the club movement, five large-scale parties successfully took place, uniting the Russian DJ elite, clubbers of the 'first generation' and 'dancing youth' on the dance floors of Gaudi Arena, the sailing club 'Vodnik', and 'Teni'. This project received a broad response from the public and the media: according to surveys, the parties 'Baikonur' and The Beach were named among the main club events of 2006. The Red Devil DJ Battle project builds on the success of the 'Remember Everything' tribute festival, using the latest communication technologies to bridge the gap between the past and the future. Famous Russian DJs, producers, and musicians Volodya Fonar, Gruv, DJ Grad, Sergey Pimenov, Vladimir Trapeznikov, Oleg Odjo, DJ Fish, and many others pass on their knowledge and experience to the new DJ generation; to the people who will rule the dancefloors of the future in a couple of years. This contest aims to create a connection between generations. In April-May 2007, around 400 contest mixes were sent to the official website www.djreddevil.ru from all over the country, from Murmansk to Vladivostok. The jury - the competent Council of Four represented by Fonar, Gruv, Grad, and Pimenov - selected 20 contenders who entered the battle for the grand prize. Until June 9, the DJ battle will be virtual - participants compete for the affection and votes of the public on the official contest website by posting their mixes, podcasts, and online diaries on their personal pages. On June 7, the results of the public voting will be announced, and the names of the 4 finalists of the Moscow stage of the contest will be revealed. They will be given the opportunity to play half-hour mixes, a sort of intro before the performances of Fonar, Fish, Volodya, and Ed Kosmonavt on the main dancefloor of Gazgallery. On the second dancefloor, in VIP Bar, the sets will be played by the cult DJs Oleg Odjo, Alexander Nuzhdin, and the new star of Moscow house Igor Kroll. The winner of the first stage will be announced based on the results of the SMS voting by the party's visitors. They will continue the battle, and on June 29, will meet with the winners of the St. Petersburg (June 15) and Rostov-on-Don (June 22) stages of the contest at the final Red Devil DJ Battle. On that night at Gaudi Arena, the finalists will perform on the same stage with global stars - the brilliant trance musician Marcus Schultz and former member of The Prodigy, Leeroy Thornhill. They will announce the winner of the Red Devil DJ Battle.
