Gilles Peterson in Moscow for the First Time

The main figure of the Headz.FM party series this season, Gilles Peterson, has been dotting the 'i's for a quarter of a century when it comes to intricate connections of jazz, soul, funk, deep house, hip-hop, Cuban and Brazilian music, aesthetical techno, and other wonders. However, pigeonholing what Gilles does into commonly accepted style and genre frameworks seems absolutely impossible. Starting in the mid-80s with a homemade radio station in his parents' garden, today he is one of the most valuable assets of the BBC radio station, and the title 'The John Peel of our time' is by no means an exaggeration. His radio show Worldwide has been topping popularity ratings for a decade, providing a necessary dose of inspiration and revelation weekly for true music lovers worldwide. As the creator and main ideologist of three iconic labels of the last twenty years - Acid Jazz Records, Talkin' Loud, and Brownswood, Peterson was and remains the chief taste-maker of our time. His club performances are as legendary and in-demand as sets by Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, or Pete Tong. Gilles is coming to Moscow with Earl Zinger, his regular MC and vocalist of the bands Galliano and 2 Banks Of Four. It's hard to believe, but nevertheless, Gilles is in Russia for the first time. As they say, better late than never.
