John Digweed in the Framework of the Transitions Promo Tour

XIII proudly presents the only Moscow performance of the legendary British DJ and founder of the progressive house style, John Digweed. The Russian tour of the artist is taking place as part of the promo tour for his author radio show Transitions, which airs every Wednesday on the airwaves of "Megapolis FM."
John Digweed is a key figure in the world of contemporary dance music. In fact, he is one of the founders of the progressive style. His works for the Renaissance label and the Northern Exposure album series have sold phenomenally, unprecedentedly, and still hold record numbers, undoubtedly entering the gold fund of dance music. His track "For What You Dream Of" featured on the soundtrack of the cult film Trainspotting and became an unofficial anthem for 90s clubbers. His residency at the famous Twilo club in New York and a series of brilliant performances in Ibiza led leading magazines for many years to name him the best DJ on the planet. As of 2005, he ranks sixth in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list. The label founded by Digweed, Bedrock, is home to such celebrities as James Zabiela, Jimmy Van M, and Luke Fair.
John Digweed has a long-standing relationship with Russia. Russian clubbers of the "first wave" see him as a cult figure whose albums from the late 90s introduced the now-popular progressive house style to the capital's audience. Since then, every visit by Digweed to Moscow and St. Petersburg becomes a true cultural event. In 2004, his set at the Bedrock festival attracted around seven thousand (!) people. In September 2005, his four-hour performance at XIII and subsequent show at the Creamfields Russia festival became one of the most notable events of last year.
Today, John Digweed has become even closer to his Russian fans. Starting from November 2005, his two-hour radio show Transitions airs every Wednesday on "Megapolis FM," the only Moscow radio station promoting the club/dance music format.
This became possible thanks to the promotional agency Organised Kaos / Interactive Media, which licenses this program for the Russian market. Now, simultaneously with listeners from twelve countries worldwide, Moscow dance music lovers can enjoy the latest tracks of the week selected and mixed by John Digweed, as well as special mixes from the best DJs on the planet.
