Josh Wink to Release New Album

In February, the well-known American techno DJ, producer, and one of the owners of the label Ovum Recordings, Josh Wink (real name Joshua Winklman), will release his fourth album titled 'When A Banana Was Just A Banana.' The album will be available in three formats: CD, vinyl, and digital.

Joshua became interested in electronic music at the age of 13 when he became an assistant to one of the DJ collectives in his hometown of Philadelphia. After meeting King Britt (DJ King Britt), Joshua seriously pursued a DJ career, and their joint project E-Culture 'Tribal Confusion' was a great success. This was followed by solo hits such as 'Liquid Summer,' 'Higher State Of Consciousness,' 'Don't Laugh,' 'Warm Wet Sand,' and collaborations with well-known musicians including Moby, This Mortal Coil, Nine Inch Nails.

Today, Wink describes his style as a combination of techno, acid, house, drum and bass, and experimental genres. He admits to using the 'theory of mistakes' in working on new tracks, employing atypical effects and musical solutions.
