Jazzanova's Only Concert in Moscow

Jazzanova is a Berlin collective consisting of DJs (Jurgen von Knoblauch, Alexander Barck, and Claas Brieler), producers (Stefan Leisering and Axel Reinemer), and Kosma (Roskoe Kretschmann). Jazzanova first appeared at the Berlin club "Delicious Doughnuts" and formed as a team in 1995. The musical creed of this creative union is to search for the most interesting aspects of the global club music culture and combine these features to present the most relevant and original combinations to the audience. Their desire to blend jazz traditions with modern rhythms leads Jazzanova to intertwine retro sounds with trendy influences borrowed from various music styles, from hip-hop and drum & bass to Latin American music and soul. The style developed by the collective members is based on broken rhythms, constantly evolving in line with the demands of the time, and perfectly matches the name Jazzanova. Since the renowned DJ Giles Peterson first aired their track "Fedime's Flight" on the radio in 1997, Jazzanova has created numerous remixes for very interesting and well-known artists, including Incognito, U.F.O., Azymuth, and 4Hero. Notably, many of the musicians whose compositions are remixed have influenced the musical tastes of the project members. When making a remix, Jazzanova always aims to interpret not only the track itself but also the mood and ideas of the entire album. After listening to the remix, you will be surprised to discover echoes of the artist's earlier works and reflections of the main ideas of their creativity. All remixes are created with respect and a very careful attitude towards the material, which is why it may take several months before a remix is released beyond the studio. Anyone interested in the studio work of the Jazzanova project could appreciate their debut album from 2002, "In Between." According to music critics, it is an incredibly interesting work that turns all the clichés of club music upside down. However, the project participants did not limit themselves to creative endeavors and have also succeeded in business: the label JCR, founded by them in collaboration with Mikael Reinbot, and the production company Sonar Kollektiv, are influential structures in the European club music market. In Russia, the Jazzanova project is popular not only among the club audience but also among those interested in fashion trends and new fresh ideas.
