The Only Concert of the Project Electronicat in Moscow

Electronicat is Fred Bigot - a French performer who presents himself as a new peacemaker, aiming to reconcile electronics and rock music. And although Time Out New York dared to describe Electronicat as techno with a slight touch of glam rock, no one knows exactly where to fit Fred's music. Bigot's works have been released on very different labels: ONITOR, ANGELIKA, KÖ, HLERMANN and finally, his latest work "21-st Century Toy" was released on the progressive DISKO B.
Forget everything you know about electroclash and New Rock. Electronicat is something entirely different and special. Analog rock sounds meet a extremely purified electronic beat and rush toward a voice seemingly just recorded in a bedroom. But the most amusing part is yet to come: when listening to the track "21-st Century Toy", it feels like Brian Eno is battling guitar riffs from Led Zeppelin's third album and a psychedelic choir. The tension escalates, but Fred deceives the listener by inviting them to listen to a mix by Serge Ginsburg and Yardbirds. Indeed, they too do not stay for long, and a modern hero Blixa Bargeld takes the stage. Fred shifts epochs and styles as if he were a seasoned juggler in a sideshow. Overall, after listening to this record until the end, one thought-question prevails: "What is going on in this guy's head?"
But to be fair, Fred is far from being a mad loner. This madness of the twenty-first century has been helped to create by people from the avant-garde of the current electronic scene - Catriona Shaw (that very Queen of Japan) and Gerhard Potuznik (G.D.LUXXE, who is also a producer at CHICKS ON SPEED).
