Electrical Lovers began to gain worldwide fame after the release of their debut album "Micro Land" in 2002. The exotic Asian ambient track "Niju Rasen" piqued the interest of the renowned Fatboy Slim, leading to its use as a soundtrack for the Japanese release of his DVD "Live On Brighton Beach-Big Beach Boutique". The Orb also fell in love with this track and made a remix of it. In addition, Mixmaster Morris included this track in his mix CD "Ambient meditations 4 God bless the chilled". In early 2004, Electrical Lovers recorded a soundtrack for the first time for a Japanese film, "Hoshi-suna no Shima, Watashi no Shima". The result of this experience was the release of their second album "Ringer ho ho", issued in December 2004. The music video for the composition "dambo" from this album received an award for Best Animation at the International Independent Film Festival in New York in 2005.
