ElectroShik presents live performance by BarBQ

Andrey Kodomtsev is the sole member of the BarBQ project. Even in school, he started trying to record his own compositions. Then there was DJing, and suddenly Andrey realized that he couldn't fully express himself by playing other people's records. The real composer's story began with working as a salesman at the oldest and most cult record store 'Baza.' The people he met there had a very powerful influence on Andrey. Working at 'Baza,' he had huge opportunities to reveal himself. Gradually getting to know all the DJs, listening to a huge amount of music, and communicating with famous producers from St. Petersburg, he began to understand the subtleties of creating dance music. His first track was featured on a mix by French DJ Dr.Oliv, owner of the Bazoline label. Then there were releases in his hometown of St. Petersburg, on the compilation 'Aerobics Hype 1' and 'Aerobics Hype 2.' Later, together with DJ Anton Newmark, Andrey recorded a remix of the track 'One earth beats' by Dum Dum, which was released on vinyl for the tenth anniversary of the Whoop label. DJs Kimbara and Elcashu included his composition 'Myself' in their mix attached to the Afisha magazine, and it soon became very popular among St. Petersburg DJs. Two years later, the track reached English DJ Mr.C, who immediately released it on his label Superfreq. As the label manager and DJ Luke Vb wrote, after sending out promo copies, DJs Tiga, Laurent Garnier, Mike Monday, XPress2, and others sent their positive reviews. iDJ magazine gave the record 4 out of 5 stars and wrote that Russians know how to make electronic music with soul. In spring 2006, the original version of this track was released on Timewriter's mix 'Deep Train Volume 4.' On September 22, Friday, at club Ikra, the pre-party starts at 21:00 in the orange hall (free entry), with ElectroShik starting at 00:00 (pre-sale tickets 300 rubles), featuring a live set from BarBQ (St. Petersburg), as well as DJ sets by Helga, Grabke, and Summerset this night.
