Continuing the story about unusual musical instruments, we offer you a video of the guitarist from Tokyo Shingo Ohno. As the author and member of the solo project Merce Death, Shingo performs musical improvisations, the recordings of which he later uploads to his website www.mercedeath.com. In one of his recent videos, the Japanese musician plays a guitar connected to a Tesla transformer, a device named after its inventor Nikola Tesla, which generates high-frequency electric current.
Another example of using a Tesla transformer for musical purposes was a performance by the American multi-instrumentalist Mark Smart at the University of Illinois this spring. One of the students from the engineering college invented a special console, with which Smart was able to perform a composition on two Tesla coils: one responsible for bass, and the other for the main part.
