Electronic Classic from Laurent Garnier

On May 19, the well-known house label Innervisions will present a new release to the public by Laurent Garnier titled 'Back To My Roots EP.' The album features two tracks, each with its own creation story... Side A: On February 29, a Friday evening, Laurent was passionately playing at Berlin's Panorama Bar. By five in the morning, the crowd didn't want to disperse, and Laurent realized he had only just warmed up the dance floor, with the hottest hours still ahead. He decided to extend his set by another three hours. It was at that moment that he pulled out a track from his bag that set the dance floor on fire. Innervisions label owner Dixon (aka Steffen Berkhahn) immediately suggested that Laurent release the record on his Innervisions label. Laurent shares, 'At that moment, I played my demo track 'Back To My Roots,' which I had recorded just last week. Side B had not yet been recorded. Dixon leaped at me with the question of what track it was. He admitted that he was extremely impressed by the groove and wanted to release this track on his label.' Dixon also shared his first impressions: 'When Laurent played the track 'Back To My Roots' at Panorama Bar, I immediately knew that this sound would become a classic! The sound was unique, different from modern music and at the same time distant from the old-school sound. Additionally, the track lasted 12 minutes, and I wanted to prolong it more and more. We are very happy that we made the right decision and immediately decided to release 'Back To My Roots' on our Innervisions label! But let's not forget about the second side of the record... Side B: Laurent continues Dixon's story, 'I returned home on Monday and immediately started working on the second track. I decided to name it 'Panoramix' in honor of that night at Panorama Bar. I sent Dixon a very rough demo recording of the future track, and within 5 minutes, he emailed me his agreement to release the 'Back To My Roots EP.'
