Electronic Video Show by Vasily Shumov and the band Tsentr

The band Tsentr is one of the most innovative and influential groups of the Moscow music scene of the 1980s, a creative laboratory that has been visited by many famous musicians. They are pioneers of new wave rock-n-roll and authors of the first electronic experiments, the Russian Kraftwerk of the socialist era. The ideologist of Tsentr, Vasily Shumov, is a cultural figure whose existence is truly remembered in Russia, thanks to his active online presence, despite having lived in Los Angeles for the past 16 years. At a time when Petr Mamonov, a figure of his generation of comparable magnitude, celebrates his 55th anniversary, another anti-show-business hero returns to his homeland - Vasily Shumov. He gave his last concert in Moscow eight years ago. Today, Tsentr Productions and the website Centromania.com present Vasily Shumov's new concert program EVSh (Electronic Video Show). EVSh is a combination of video projections and compositions from the band Tsentr's last five albums, recorded with the participation of Tsentroborators and by exchanging audio files over the Internet. The visual part of EVSh consists of video works and fragments of Vasily Shumov's experimental films. Many videos have been specially made for Tsentr's compositions.
