Exit is the festival on everyone's lips. In 2007, more than 10,000 Brits voted Exit as the 'Best European Festival'. In 2008, the lineup included: Paul Weller, The Sex Pistols, Nightwish, Gogol Bordello, Ministry, The Hives, Deep Dish (Dubfire & Sharam), Sven Vath, 2ManyDJs, Francois K, Ben Watt, Booka Shade, Tiga, Laurent Garnier, Claude Von Stroke, M.I.A., Primal Scream and many more. Over 600 concerts will take place on 25 stages, connected by paths, alleyways, and tunnels of the mystical 17th-century Petrovaradin Fortress located in Novi Sad, Serbia. The Dance Arena of the Exit festival is considered one of the best in Europe. Many who have already visited the festival describe the extraordinary feeling when, at sunrise, over 20,000 people dance in the ancient fortress to beautiful music! Exit has also become famous for its multifaceted lineups, merging styles like rock and rap, classical and chill-out, disco turning into drum and bass, and techno turning into experimental electronics. This is evidenced by the names of musicians who have already performed at the festival: Basement Jaxx, Billy Idol, Franz Ferdinand, Fatboy Slim, Morrissey, Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Robert Plant, Snoop Dogg, Scissor Sisters, Underworld, White Stripes. The festival, launched nine years ago as a student protest against the communist regime of Milosevic, has proven that music is a universal language of communication, through which people can meet and make the world a better place.
