The club scene in Ufa has become very vibrant over the past two years. Almost every week, famous foreign DJs and musicians visit the city's clubs. In terms of club culture development, Ufa arguably ranks among the top three in Russia, following Moscow and St. Petersburg. Local promoters in Ufa continuously monitor global trends in the club industry, ensuring Ufa clubbers keep up with their European counterparts. The latest trend in the club scene is performances by musicians rather than DJs. Partly because DJs have 'exhausted their resources,' musicians using various laptops, synthesizers, and emulators have taken their place. Mixing records has been replaced by creating music live during performances. Each musician's performance becomes unique. Over the past year, several 'live' musicians have performed at Ogni Ufy club: Reinhard Voigt (Germany), Krikor (France), Vince Watson (UK), SCSI-9 (Moscow), Lazyfish (Moscow), Lookash (Chelyabinsk). The club promotion group Ogni Ufy presents the Second Annual Live Electronic Musicians Festival ProLive! Ver.02 on October 14, 2006. Special invited guests include the top techno musician from Finland Sami Koivikko, and minimal masters, the Spanish project Swat Squad. Alongside the headliners, the best musicians from Ufa will also perform. The event will take place on three dance floors, one of which will be dedicated to DJs, while the other two will feature 'live' musicians.
