Faces & Laces 2010

From May 21 to 22, 2010, the "Vetoshny" space in Moscow will host the Faces&Laces 2010 exhibition for the fourth time, fully dedicated to contemporary subcultural fashion, visual communications, and alternative contemporary art.

Faces&Laces is compared to various events in Europe and other countries; however, it is an indisputable fact that over four years, the exhibition has developed its own unique identity. Currently, the project gathers the best domestic representatives in the streetwear segment, industry, and subcultural trends. The exhibition takes place in a highly interactive format and in a very informal atmosphere. This year, participants in Faces&Laces – brands and major labels, distributors, retailers, famous designers, artists, illustrators, and creative groups – are preparing projects that primarily focus on the philosophy and retrospective of a particular brand. Most projects are the exclusive result of painstaking and hard work, which can only be seen live in Moscow, and only at Faces&Laces 2010. Therefore, the exhibition in 2010 aims to represent a thematic visual symposium with a full range of opportunities for communication between the audience, specialized media, and commercial participants in a relaxed and communication-friendly atmosphere.

Having transformed into a brand, Faces&Laces 2010 presents several collaborative projects with other brands. One of the most interesting is a collaboration with the iconic brand Stussy, the Kixbox store, and Aske, Sicksystems – a Moscow artist and graphic designer.

In addition to traditional projects dedicated to iconic clothing and footwear brands, guests of Faces&Laces will be able to consult stylists from Got2B, who will provide hair styling and conduct masterclasses.

This year, for the first time, there will be live performances by both Western and domestic groups: Radioclit (London), Tyree Cooper (Chicago), Robots (Moscow), Pompeya (Moscow), Flying Rods (Moscow), and many others.

Dunkin’ Donuts café will delight everyone with delicious donuts and coffee. Additionally, Faces&Laces, together with Skate City, Ezekiel, Nike SB, and the Destroy store, presents a mini-ramp and invites all skaters to participate in the official contest with an excellent prize fund!

Traditionally, among the headliners of the exhibition are top representatives of alternative and subcultural scenes, graffiti writers, artists, and illustrators whose professional backgrounds are somehow related to the streetwear industry. This time, all artists will be present in a conceptual gallery space – "Synthesis and Integration". The geography of participants and presented projects continues to cover many countries around the world.
