Felix Da Housecat is Coming to Moscow

The energetic hedonist Felix da Housecat, who emerged on the club scene in the late 1980s, continues to captivate audiences. His popularity in the new millennium has grown to the scale of a club Michael Jackson. And this is not just due to his exploits on the dance floor, but also his relationships with authorities. Reports have surfaced that Felix was under FBI surveillance or that he collaborated with the extremist group "Black Panthers"; he is sometimes remembered for his sharp statements regarding the authorities' involvement in Jim Hendrix's death. But the key to Felix Stallings's, as Felix is named in his passport, success is that his goal is to entertain others and have fun himself, and he excels at it. Record collectors of club music knew of Felix's existence back in the 80s, not only under the name Felix da Housecat but also as Aphrohead, Rocketmann(!), Thee Maddkatt Courtship. The list of creative aliases that the maestro has generated is virtually impossible to summarize. His art cannot be contained within the confines of a single genre; his experiments with sound bring him not only fame but also new names. The path to the musician's success began with wins in the "Best Album of the Year" categories at the "Muzik Awards" and "The American Dancestar Awards" and the release of the album miss Kittin & The Hacker. At that time, the electro-culture of the new century was taken seriously, and top stars began clamoring for remixes from the "black cat". Among them were Kylie Minogue, Garbage, and Mylene Farmer. In addition to beautiful singing ladies, Felix "reworked" tracks for the Pet Shop Boys and Giorgio Moroder, the very figures whose work inspires him. Perhaps some would stop at their achievements, but Felix did not get stuck in the beams of glory; he moved forward, developing the kitsch theme under the banner of "sex, drugs & rock’n’roll". If earlier his compositions bore light flirtations with the 80s, now his music has taken the form of total Glam Rock in an electronic sound. In the difficult task of writing music, he was assisted by James Murphy, the leader of LCD Soundsystem, which means that punk plays a significant role in this club mix. Although what styles can there be? Felix couldn’t care less; he has one "iron rule" - to disregard the rules!
