Breaks Arena Festival in St. Petersburg

Breaks Arena is the first large-scale festival in Russia dedicated to broken beats. In recent years, breaks has taken over the dance floors around the world, becoming a leading trend for all DJs and the best soundtrack for the lives of European clubbers. The rhythm is now definitely meant to be "broken." St. Petersburg has not become an exception, and soon it was gripped by breaks fever. It started with hurricane parties In Beat We Trust at Tunnel, later breaks reclaimed its "territory" on Mayday and Soundtropolis; the next step is Breaks Arena – the first and only dance festival where the main arena of Yubileyny will be occupied exclusively by broken beats.
Breaks Arena is a landmark event in the history of dance music in St. Petersburg and Russia as a whole. The event will feature those who have created and developed the breaks culture worldwide from its inception to present. People born to be sources of drive and energy. Now, their annual gathering will take place at the biggest breakbeat dance floor in the history of modern music. Breaks Arena will become a "window" into the world of breakbeat for thousands of its loyal fans in Russia. Every new year will be marked by the arrival of outstanding vinyl virtuosos from Europe and Great Britain. This year, Breaks Arena features predominantly foreign artists: Atomic Hooligan, Jay Cunning, Stanton Warriors, Split loop, Drummatic Twins, and MC Chikaboo will headline the first breaks rave in Russia. On their home turf, the Russian guru of "brake" Lady Waks, Quest, Mikhail Voron, and Compass-Vrubel will host the guests. "Crowning" Breaks Arena will be the "great and powerful" Rennie Pilgrim, a person whose name has been associated with everything that has ever happened in the world of dance electronics. The owner of TCR Records, a legend, will come to Russia for the first time and will honorably lead the first Breaks Arena.
A week before the festival, Udar.Music releases a disk series titled Breaks Arena. An exclusive set of legends Nu Skool Breaks Atomic Hooligan and Jay Cunning, an explosive mix by Lady Waks, and of course, the Breaks Arena compilation itself will be available in all music stores in the city, featuring both foreign and Russian break artists among them Atomic Hooligan, Friendly, Meat Katie, Aquasky, Boogie Army, Dj Quest, Dmitry Golitsin, IBWT crew, and others.
Breaks Arena is unique in its musical concept. For 10 years, Kontrfors has often appeared as the instigator of projects that were the first of their kind and gained the love and recognition of the youth, who spend their entire lives in musical rhythm. This has been true for Ravemontage, Eastern Strike, Forts, Soundtropolis, and other festivals. In all its festivals, Kontrfors aims to reflect trends in global dance culture, introduce them to the Russian listener, and immerse them in it. The goal of Breaks Arena is the same. 10,000 electronic music enthusiasts will hear and see a rave of a new era, the era of Breaks.
