Electronic Art Festival in Saint Petersburg

From November 13 to 15, a three-day audio-visual art festival 'Electro-Mechanics' will take place at the Sergey Kurekhin Center of Modern Art in Saint Petersburg. The festival will feature experimental and dance music, digital video art, music videos, installations, and performances. The first day will include lectures, seminars, video screenings, and film showings starting at 19:00. Artists like Video Jack from Portugal will present their audiovisual projects AVOL, Heat Seeker, and 'Master and Margarita', an audiovisual adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's novel. Andres Lõo from Tallinn will discuss the development and trends of Estonian experimental music, referencing the artistic life in Estonia from 1990 to 2008. The music part of the festival will take place on November 14 and 15 from 20:00 to 6:00, showcasing DJs and collectives from Germany, the UK, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Estonia, and Finland presenting various styles from techno, electro, grime, dubstep to disco, acid house, and hip-hop. The German group Mouse on Mars is invited as the headliner of 'Electro-Mechanics', performing music from their latest album 'Varcharz'. The festival is included in the Adam Mickiewicz Institute's program 'Polish Cultural Season in Russia 2008', with several projects from Poland participating, including techno producer Jacek Sienkiewicz.
