City of Sound Festival at Kirova Stadium

"Far from sunset, even in the capital of the Far North, the sounds froze here. Enthusiasts of the grand event from around the world have sharpened their receptors. Because they have been waiting so long... From under the dense canopy of sound waves emerges the responsive cheer of the exultant crowd, blending voices of advocates of different styles. The City of Sound is opening its gates once again... In 2006, from the previous successful and spectacular Soundtropolis festival, Sonic Union – the City of Sound emerged. This year, the festival is changing not only its name but also its venue. On July 22, the residents of the most democratic metropolis will celebrate the housewarming. Fortunately, there is enough space at Kirova Stadium, and on this hot July night, the City will warmly welcome all newcomers. In the western part of Krestovsky Island, only pure, natural tones will be heard – music, enthusiastic voices, and a bit further away, the noise of the surf. The City of Sound will encompass all the best projects of Contforce: Mayday, The World Of Drum&Bass, Udar.music, Breaks Arena. Each area will essentially become a full-fledged rave with a self-sufficient lineup, decorations, and atmosphere. All four dance floors this year will be located outdoors: techno, electro, breaks, and drum&bass. Those who come to see the real City of Sound with their own eyes are unlikely to want to cool off in the waters of the Gulf of Finland, just a couple of minutes from Kirova Stadium. Nor will they want to dissolve in the fires of the big city shimmering beyond its limits. Because there will be no time. And no desire. Only the wish that this night lasts a little longer.
