Flammable Camp 2008

From April 1 to 13, for the 11th time, the traditional spring snowboarding camp will take place at Dombay, which this year has returned to its former name Flammable Camp. This is just the beginning of the changes. The park is moving from Yugo-Slavyanka (the name of one of the ski lifts at Dombay, built away from the main slopes) to a new, more convenient location at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level, on the 5th line of the main cable car. It is now the new Quiksilver Park with a series of features and separate lifts for camp participants. The highest cafe in the Caucasus is located there, offering a beautiful view of the Gonachkir Gorge, with Mount Elbrus visible in good clear weather.

This year, Geoffrey Bostwick, an American shaper, is specially flying in to build the park. Geoff constructs parks in Colorado and Folgafon (Norway) driving a snowcat. So the Quiksilver Park will be just like in the States.

Close to the park, a large kicker is being built, where the Flammable Pro Series contests will take place: the Nissan Battle of Regions competition held together with Doski magazine, with a prize fund of $3000, and the Nissan NewSchool Contest held with Vertikalny Mir magazine, with a prize fund of $1000. Down in the valley, on the edge of the slope, one evening will feature the Men's Health Rail Master jib contest, which has become one of the camp's highlights, with a prize fund of $3000.

All camp guests will also be pleasantly surprised by Russia's first competition, although it can be called a competition with a stretch, more of a pure fun event with a $3000 cash prize for non-standard tricks - the Nissan Shred The Line. The event is organized by Onboard magazine. Professional athletes and enthusiasts confident in their abilities will have to overcome an obstacle course of barrels, logs, and walls.

Quality evening entertainment in the new club space will be provided by the Flammable Camp DJs: Mystic Bo (Berlin), Denis Simachev with the LowBudgetFamily project (DJs: Luzer, Sestra, and Eurohach), Gankin, Chagin, Pirumov, Panda, Zorkin, Sapunov. The camp will also host a party by Time Out Moscow magazine.
