FortDance. Six Years with Us

Having gone from a private art project to a massive cultural event, the FortDance Festival has become one of the most vibrant events in the life of the global dance music community. Every year (since 2000), thousands of electronic music enthusiasts and music connoisseurs from Russia and abroad flock to the shores of the Gulf of Finland to the legendary architectural site, one of the symbols of Russia's post-Petrine era - the historical Fort Alexander I. This maritime fortress, occupying an entire island in the gulf, served as a naval stronghold of Russia's northern capital, St. Petersburg, since the mid-19th century. Numerous awards in the field of dance culture, thousands of enthusiastic reviews in the media, national radio and video broadcasts have confirmed the uniqueness of the Festival. The status of the artists who brilliantly played their sets in different years of FortDance has become its peculiar cultural foundation, a musical legacy. And so, in 2006, FortDance met our expectations and organized a stunning festival with the support of Miller! Several thousand happy clubbers gathered on July 29 at Fort Alexander I and brought with them a sea of emotions and impressions. Stars of the global dance scene such as Deep Dish, Dean Coleman, 20:20 SoundSystem, Miss Nine, and many others performed at the seventh edition of FortDance. Let's hope that next year FortDance will be even better, bigger, and more fabulous!
