Photo exhibition 'Germany: Stop, Moment!'

From October 1 to 18, an international photo exhibition 'Germany: Stop, Moment!' dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall will be held in Moscow. In 2009, the exhibition will take place in 20 countries around the world. In October and November, it can be seen in Moscow, Kaliningrad, and Omsk.

'Germany: Stop, Moment!' is a retrospective of an international photo contest among journalists, where more than 30 people from 18 European countries, Japan, and the USA traveled on a 'photo journey' to Berlin and other areas of Germany where the 'German-German' border existed until 1989, from September to January 2008. At the end of the trips, the jury selected 93 photo works. The criteria for choosing the winners were artistic value, historical context, and the tourist attractiveness of the photos. The winners were Jean-Luc Santoni from Italy, Eduardo Grund from Spain, and Iris Lukacs from Hungary. The representative of Russia, photojournalist Igor Gavrilov, took the honorable 7th place.

The exhibition will be located on the 3rd floor of the GUM department store. Admission to the exhibition during store hours is free of charge.
