Funkstar De Luxe at Moscow's Fabrique

Funkstar De Luxe can certainly be called an artist with a capital letter of the entire Danish dance scene! He is the king of remixes! The young man has recorded remixes for Bob Marley and Grace Jones on his debut album of 2001 "Keep On Moving". Since then, names like Ricky Martin and Boy George have been added to this list. The single "Sun Is Shining" performed by Funkstar De Luxe and Bob Marley sold over a million copies and won the nomination for "Best-selling International Reggae Single of the Year" at the World Music Awards.

Currently, Funkstar De Luxe has recorded a new compilation of songs - the album Funkturistic. The new album showcases a broader range of Funkstar De Luxe's musical capabilities. While the debut album was a collection of remixes of other artists' songs, Funkturistic contains only original tracks by Funkstar De Luxe. The leap from remix creation to producing his own songs has led to fruitful collaborations with two vocalists and songwriters - Little Tasha and Kirk Patrick Thompson. Funkturistic is a compilation for international release. It features most of Funkstar De Luxe's original compositions, but that hasn't stopped him from using samples from other tracks. Funkstar De Luxe does not hide the secrets of his samples unlike most other DJs/producers. The success of his remix of Bob Marley brought him fame - unexpectedly Funkstar "found himself" on stage in Spain or appeared on English TV shows. The whole year passed in the rhythm of DJ gigs, live performances, and interviews. Funkstar De Luxe's dream is to be able to write and produce songs and now he is living that dream. Today his goal is to work with many international artists and create music that moves people - music that he will be remembered for.
